The Art of Recovery

Yes – recovery in relationships is an art not a science. It involves intuition, empathy and a dance between two people who are trying to balance their desire to be close to the other with their desire to have a clear sense of self. This lack of science is hard for those that want clear logic and neat answers. Perhaps, however a clear framework might help here.

Good News –Relationships Thrive in Messiness

However, the good news is that relationships thrive in messiness. Making mistakes, like saying something the wrong way or timing things wrong, is part of, if not essential to the process. There is no perfect way. Intimacy in relationships comes from a willingness to be vulnerable and engage. All conversations and interactions ARE the relationship and waiting to get it right or holding back stunts the relationship, only protecting the self not the relationship growth.
